Welcome to WEEK 4 OF NCAA FOOTBALL (PICK EM) Major Match-UPS! If this is your first week to play we are only selecting from the Major Match-UPS this year. Most people really don't care if you picked Central Eastern State to beat North Central Tech.

RULES: I have attached and posted the USA Today Odds for these eleven games and chose the "average," of all of the different odds making services that USA Today endorses.

R.E.M.-R.I.P. (1980-2011) Athens, Georgia

I was in Athens, GA today which was kind of random?

R.E.M. were an iconic indie Southern Rock Band who mixed post-punk, 80's new wave, Southern Gothic and Country Rock. After 31 years and 15 studio albums they have called it a day.They are one of the most influential indie bands and released several seminal albums like Murmur, Reckoning, Life's Rich Pageant, Automatic for The People and Reveal which are classics. I am proud that this band was from a neighboring Southern State and aspired to be more than a "Southern Boogie," or "Jam Band."

R.E.M. influenced countless number of bands and other artists all over the world. Grunge Rock, Alternative Music, 90's Slacker Rock and Brit Rock genres were influenced by R.E.M. . For those of you who cannot appreciate their contribution to modern music you should rediscover some of their earlier albums that I listed. R.E.M. struggled and paid their dues for ten years playing small venues and towns all over the South East before their breakthrough. Rolling Stone, Spin and other music publications always list some of the albums I have mentioned as the most influential during the the last three decades.
R.E.M. might have officially resigned from the music world today but their music will always live on!

Yes, the 'tard is drinking a Bud Light in the gambling capital of the world, so BamaBoy, I'm gonna go off their #s - but will abide by yours come Sunday. Thanks for the UCF/BYU game - you rock. Second of all, I am saddened by the demise of REM. Was lucky enough to see them back in the day.

I want to be just like you Bronco Boy! I would have picked first but I wanted to double check Syracuse, Ga Tech and So. Cal out in the past three weeks. I think I am fairly confidant on my pics. Hopefully Notre Dame will show up. I think Bama wins tomorrow but that is a lot of points against Arkansas. One day Boise State will play big conference divisional rivalry games like this one. It will happen sooner than you think with all of the conference realignment talk.

That'll teach Bama Boy to follow my lead next time. We both ended up 4-7 for Week 4. Pathetic. I'll be the first one on the board to admit it. That means for the season I am 14-19 and Bama is 16-17. What a steaming pile, eh???

Fucktard and BreakingNews get the shout outs for Week 4 - both were 7-4

Pale was 6-5. Not bad. Over .500.
 






WEEK 4 FINALE:

1. BREAKING NEWS 8-3: Congrats to Breaking News for winning during the first week of play. We should have given your Clemson Tigers more respect because they played great and Dabo is an awesome coach! You also chose Syracuse and realized what some of us (Bronco Boy) can't admit to themselves is that Toldeo is not a "great team!" Nice pick on Arizona State as well. Please come back and play next week.

2. Pale Horse & Fucktard 7-4: You both tied for 2nd place. Remember what Ricky Bobby says, "If your not first your last!" Just kidding. You both did a great job. Fucktard picked Clemson a pick that you missed Pale Horse but I did not make that pick either. You both had faith in my Crimson Tied when even I did not! Good pick on Arizona State beating USC. Thanks for playing and I hope to see your picks next week!!

3. Bronco Boy & BamaBoy 6-5: Looks like Bronco Boy can't count? We both tied for 3rd place just check the box scores and lines a little more carefully. Well it looks like Toledo is not the team you thought they were. You should really consider retracting the statement that Toledo "could beat half the teams in the SEC!" Hahahahaha!! Toledo is 1-3!!! Concerning Bama playing Boise. Believe me we are not worried one bit neither is LSU if they play Boise. Georgia might be in the same conference but on the same level as Bama, LSU and Florida this season. Florida is back! Bama smoked those hogs in Tuscaloosa. Even I did not see that coming. Arkansas is a very good team with a fast high scoring offense but they could not defeat Bama's fast high scoring defense. Now that is what you call a "quality win." LSU showed what happens when a pro-style offense and dominant defense meets a flashy spread offense. Boise don't want none of that coon ass-corn dog foot up their blue donkey asses. Boise has not faced a high scoring defense like LSU or Bama. Next week I will make my picks on Thursday Night to make it seem like I am not "riding your coat tails." I just thought FSU, USC and Notre Dame would take care of business and they did not. I thought it would be a close game against Arkansas and Bama would win by 3-6 points. I also thought that the great awesome team that can beat half the teams in the SEC the mighty 1-3 Toldeo Rockets would beat Syracuse!! Hahahahaha!!!

Nice to see your confidence in the Gators, BamaBoy, but I consider it too early to proclaim anything about this new Gator team. We have passing game issues. If the defense wins games, the best games of the season will be UF-ALA this Saturday, as well as the UF-LSU games.

So that makes us 5-6 - not 6-5.

What's fair is fair.

I don't care if I end the season 15-70. I want to maintain a clean board that's on the up and up. In years gone by there were certain player(s) who tried to pull a numbers scam on the board picks. No cheap shots and no names. Let's leave it in the past. No need to kick a dead horse. I just don't want to go back there again. It was ugly.

I will proudly profess a season record so far of 15-18. Yours is 18-15. Don't blink. :)
 






Week 5 looks like a real sleeper.

The only decent games I saw were Alabama/Florida and Arkansas/Texas A&M. Maybe I missed something. I have a gut feeling that the Washington/Utah game will be a barn burner and worth a watch though.
