Weedwacker lacks ideas so he fires people







Oh genius idea let’s just fire people. Weedwacker has NO IDEA how to build a business. Blame others is the lowest level of loser ship.

Not a fan of Viebacher at all. In fact, he reminds me of Montgomery Burns on the Simpsons.

that said, people like him exist because of the hubris of others. People building empires, hiring useless positions, promoting friends (or putting baby mamas on the BOD). This can all be supported when times are good. All it takes is LOE on a key product, a poor launch or an R&D failure and it’s time for the Grim Reaper to appear with his abacus.

He is not necessarily here to build anything. He is here to get the balance sheet back in order, get paid and disappear like a specter in the night.

layoffs are just the tip of the iceberg. The walking dead that remain will trip over each other to avoid the same inevitable fate. People will bust their ass to show value only to be force ranked against people in completely different roles. The winners (if you want to call them that) will be those with the most connected boss or the DEI flavor of the moment.

Biogen botched their MS franchise, especially Tec IP. Neuro is hard. It’s almost impossible to focus only on that. None of the best companies do. They make money in onc and immunology and then wait for one of the neuro long shots to hit.

when a companies only commodity is window dressing of hyper unqualified women and minorities and complete bullshit of fit-for-growth (read about it, it’s an entire organizational philosophy which is NOT being implemented but merely referred to since most people don’t do their homework) you’re not a real company anyway. Prediction: biogen is positioning for sale. You don’t need taken for that, you need yes people.

the constant refrain from the hr drones is we’re retaining talent. That is utter bullshit. They are retaining people who can be controlled and bullied who can be relied on to bully.

That’s not at all the point. Of course that’s not the case. But this comment is referring to THIS case of what’s happening at biogen. These are numbers the company is hitting for tax purposes. Since there’s nothing to sell anymore DEI targets are the actual currency. That has nothing to do with ability or competence.
