Just want to know how you guys get away with offering provation on the cheap in exchange for pathology specimen.. This is illegal and people are starting to notice.. Pretty easy to prove when you have reps putting it in writting... We give you discounts on provation and you give us pathology... Bunch of crooks

Please find "spell check" on your computer! Please....

Oh yes. tru to change the subject by correcting someone's spelling on a cafepharma message board. Oldest trick in the book. Maybe the OIG is checking the spelling on the provation contracts that you provide to doctors as well...

This is a great example of a competitor attempting to disparage and discredit Miraca Life Sciences, without the benefit of complete or accurate information. Don't be fooled! Don't be deceived! At Miraca, we strive to ensure that all posts are factually true (and any inaccuracies promptly corrected) and all opinions are informed and well-supported. We've found that the posts by Miraca employees tend to be respectful and considerate. But, its the competitors that post on our board that disparage Miraca, its services, products or personnel. Its our competitors disguising as our employees, or identifying themselves as competitors directly, that tend to be argumentative, insulting or obscene. And, they do not have accurate or complete information.

Ok so please tell us what we are wrong about? Please explain the deep discounts on provation that are being given to Gi clients in exchange for pathology. If we are misinformed or wrong please clear it up for us.

We are not going to discuss sustainable competitive advantages on a public message board. We would not disclose specifics involving business deals, proprietary relationships, relevant research, or any other competitive information on a public board. If there is any information involving personnel, patients or clients, or any financial, legal, regulatory or sensitive internal matters, it is shared with the employees only. That kind of sensitive information can't be shared publicly!

To the previous poster: DO NOT debate this with a Caris employee. What exactly do you expect them to say? They are not going to stop doing something you object to just because you do not like it. They do not care about you or your interests. Why should they?

If you have knowledge of kickbacks for referrals, do this: Contact the OIG and provide specific facts. If you have only general allegations, do not waste anyone's time. Likewise, Contact the State attorney general in the state where you do practice. Contact the US Attorney in your state. Contact your state Pathology society. If you have personally suffered damages, get a lawyer. If you have a copy of a contract offering a quid pro quo as you allege then provide it as evidence. Complaining on a message board is a waste of time. If you don't like what Caris is doing and you have proof, do something about it.

I have read all of the contracts that PPI and then CARIS put out that involves their Provation deployments (pre-Miraca). They all are worded in such a way to leave the physician office with the impression that it requires them to use the pathology services, even though in one specific line it expressly states that it is not a requirement. There are even segments that state that CARIS from time to time can have access to the system to look at orders etc, if I remember correctly.

So to the casual reader ( not a physicians lawyer which they rarely engage because they are to cheap), such as a office manager, the quid pro quo is assumed based upon the contract language.

From a strictly legal point of view, the contract does state that they do not have to use CARIS for pathology, but it really is a moot point in the real world market of physician offices, specifically in the face of the rest of the contract language which intonate's the opposite.

I hope that was respectful enough for the Miraca personnel on this board, and also addresses the complaintant's issue more specifically.
