Watson pharma to sell lipitor

Beginning in Nov. Watson will be selling Lipitor. The deal is already completed. By the time they get trained and in the field it will be the end of the quarter and the end of P4. They will terminate all of us 12/2011. Merry freakin Christmas now go away.

Watson Pharmaceuticals will sell an authorized generic version of Pfizer’s Lipitor(atorvastatin) when the blockbuster cholesterol drug loses patent exclusivity in the U.S. in November; however, the drug giant is also considering its own OTC version.

Fiercepharma quoting a Bloomburg article this AM

Stalling on its Lipitor launch won't make other generic companies happy; their hands are tied until Ranbaxy's 180-day exclusivity period expires. Mylan ($MYL) actually tried to force FDA to nullify Ranbaxy's exclusive rights, given the company's difficulty obtaining approval, but a judge tossed out that lawsuit. Only Watson Laboratories ($WPI) would be smiling; it has a deal with Pfizer ($PFE) to sell an authorized generic beginning Nov. 30. Pfizer also would be happy--any delay in Lipitor generics means more sales of the genuine brand.

Were you not listening to the Town Hall? We get 60% of all generic sales and 100% of branded sales!! What does that mean to me? Gonna go buy a boat, jet ski, motorcycle, and motorhome!! Maybe even a 2nd or 3rd home!! I can smell the sweet smell of cash already flowing in rivers towards my bank account. Or maybe we all get Pfucked.

WE don't get 60% of what Watson sells, Pfizer does. We(P4) will get paid be how many conversions to branded Lipitor we influence our TCL's to make. If they convert and use the $4 copay card then we get credit. Don't go spending that river of money just yet. We're all in danger of getting pfucked, up to or just after that 180 day mark.

I think you should buy the boat, motorhome, ect. as long as you buy it at Toys R'Us.

We get paid bonus on the molecule--it doesn't matter if it is brand or generic. We will get a sales contest for $4 co-pay redemptions as Pfizer makes more money on brand. Pfizer will make 60% of the Watson generic rxed at the pharmacies. Also they have in place incentives to managed care to ensure that the Watson generic or Lipitor brand is what is preferred as filled.

Could be some big bonuses to be earned.
