Just talked with JD, got a extra two years, car, health ins, and allowed to still submit expense report!

Just have a JD call HR and the money flood gates open! It's so easy and I deserve it since my feelings are hert and I feel sad now

umm, no..but you should be able to negotiate at least 6 months severance and at least 6 months health Ins.. did you ever sign a non-compete..were you ever given consideration for signing it..etc. etc.spend a few sheckles and some time talking to a lawyer instead of posting dumb stuff

I know this is sometimes an entertainment site but for me and my families well being please be honest, are displaced representatives really having these kinds of successes with negotiating severances? I really need an honest answer. And I would really appreciate knowing on what grounds are these results anchored. Industry standards, economy, job market, etc.

Honestly, most states are employment at will. Meaning your employer does not need a reason to fire you. I would think if anyone is negotiating anything, it's because they don't live in one of these states or they have a reason to think they were treated unfairly. So to answer your question, majority of people received or will receive the standard package.

didn't quite get what you got but having an attorney representing and speaking for me directly to their general counsel certainly helped me get a little breathing room to find my next gig.

Will vary by state law. Ex in right to work states they could let you go and not even give you a severance. But shire still is. Don't listen to lies take the package and hopefully you can move on quick. Most people just get laid off (in other industries ) without a severance. I live in a right to work state and wouldn't change that bc we don't have union thugs bankrupting companies. By by Twinkie. and business fire worthless workers leaving hard working people to get the better jobs as it should be. Be thankful they are even giving severance.

They lied on my review, lied to put me on probation and lied to terminate me. I pointed out how the things that were being written about me were false. But it only fell on the deaf ears of HR & exec mngmt. Any advice out there?

I have been in the industry for many years and never seen a rep during a lay-off scenario negotiate additional pay, insurance or options. But I have seen long term DM s and higher negotiate a severance package of significance. A long term RD got to keep a brand new jet black Suburban with all the bells and whistles. Not bad.

I was under the assumption they doled out a couple of bucks per years worked added a little insurance, sign the papers, pick up the gadgets and samples- then out the door.

Now listen, by all means I could be flat out incorrect as I have only worked for a few organizations. But it seems like it hard as a rep. What leverage does a rep have as to garner more resources when the environment is clearly not in their favor?

Really, your only leverage is if something has been carried out in a non compliant manner and if you have proof! ;)

I am going to be very vague here. I am in the Alaskan region..but hiring an employment attorney was well worth it. No gold mine. but more health insurance and a little more "back pay". I waited to post this till I actually got my check. Hopefully everybody was smart enough to consult a good labor attorney.

You really made a mistake if you signed your letter right away without thinking everything over and consultation.
