Managers are about to start keeping very close tabs on reps. Too many complaints about some reps not working plus pressure from above to cut the fat. Don't be surprised to find your manager outside your house in the morning. Be careful where and when you get gas and make phone calls, too. They can too easily track that info to see who's not in territory...
 






It's about Time! I'm tired of my "partner" sitting home all morning while I'm out working. It's so obvious when he will never answer his phone in the mornings. Dead Weight!
 






Nice to see some things never change about this farcical job. I am surprised that your management would tolerate lazy reps when so many and varied digital controls are easily available to monitor how one is "working" at their job.
 






the point is, if there was a "job" to work we all would be working.

But one loses motivation when all we get to do is stand at the window, chatting up the receptionist, prevent pts. from checking in, and hope to grab a signature as we tap tap tap that screen.

It not a job, its a waste of time!

I can make better use of my time in so many ways.....
yeah, and still collect the paycheck, enjoy the benefits, drive the car, etc.

And if not me, then who?

It will all go away in the not to distant future, enjoy while you can, and good luck getting another career going with this job on your resume.

So what you're saying then is, the job is a farce?
 






Global Security has used receipt audit in the past. If you are doing your job, you should not be filling up gas nearby at 11 am anyway. There is an user log created daily on your laptop anyway. It tracks when you turn it out, which pages/applications you go, etc. and is uploaded whenever you connect. Nothing to worry if you have nothing to hide. The computer people said they hate it when a manager requests to get your user log based on suspicion because it is a lot of work for them.

I can't believe there are still reps who try to get away with gaming the system despite the job being mostly a game. You still have to at least put in the time of going through the motions so user logs and audits don't conflict with what is or is not reported.

LOL! It is fine to get gas nearby at 11am, it is NOT okay to get gas in VEGAS when you should be on territory in So Cal!!!

No. But then one of my former colleagues was audited that way in a face-to-face meeting with Global Security and that person is no longer with Mother Merck. Second, as a computer champion in the old days and we asked the computer people at the HQ about that very question and it is confirmed. An user log is generated on a daily basis. No one care to isolate and look at your log unless your manager wants to displace you and start digging.
