WARN Act

If a company lays off 100 employees at once- they are required to notify them that they are getting la layoff in 60 days. First round was that big so they gave the sixty days notice - smaller rounds of lY offs we will be gone the same day with no notice, no severance, no insurance.

Can someone explain the WARN Act in plain language? I know OI will try to avoid it. Thanks.

Oh well, OI has just always been an A-hole trap. Everyone in upper level management are just outcast and failures from other biotech companies. Fired, laid off or pushed out of other companies because they caused toooo many issues.

"According to a source close to the operations, Canton, MA-based Organogensis started handing out 60-day severance pay last week to everyone but the director and two managers in R&D and all but four positions in medical and clinical. Company executives discussed cutting up to 200 positions in the reorganization, according to the source, though final numbers are still hard to come by."

These clowns are calling the WARN Act mandate a "severance".
