Walking back campaign promises 2.0

Once again, here we go..................

Throughout his campaign, Trump repeatedly bragged that he was uniquely positioned to resolve Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In March 2023, he said he could “fix” the war before he was even inaugurated.

“I would fix that within 24 hours, and if I win, before I get into the office, I will have that war settled,” the president-elect said in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity. “100% sure.”

He said the same thing in May 2023 during a CNN town hall — “If I’m president, I will have that war settled in one day, 24 hours” — and again in June 2024.

But on Wednesday, two of his advisers conceded that isn’t going to happen.

It will take months or even longer to resolve the war, which has been going on since February 2022, Trump’s associates told Reuters. They chalked up Trump’s promises to quickly end the war to “campaign bluster” and “a lack of appreciation of the intractability of the conflict and the time it takes to staff up a new administration,” per Reuters.

Trump himself backpedaled on this promise last week, saying during a Mar-a-Lago news conference that his “hope” is to try to get a deal in six months.

Here’s a tip: Trump supporters don’t take him literally when he says things like that. We do, however, think it’s hilarious when YOU do. #Trolledagain. LOL

And here’s a tip: Intelligent people don’t vote for someone they have no idea of their sincerity.
Translation: Intelligent people don‘t vote for lying con men. Trump follows the example of two other autocrat/fascists: Mussolini and Hitler…both destroyed their own countries and ended up unalive…Mussolini famously hung upside down like a pig. Not a good prognosis for America’s con man who could be targeted by his own cult for lying and duping them into voting for his lies while embracing oligarchy in america. Unbelievable to me that the American people are so dumb but in some ways glad I know now.

And anyone thought Round 2 would be any different than Round 1? This is the MAIN REASON that I hate Trump -- and it is that he is a liar. Outright lies. Not uninformed opinions (he does that also), but actually manufactures a response that he pulled out of his ass and that he "pretends" could be true. And the GOP doesn't stop him. Good grief, I thought that they were proud people who wouldn't let Trump dirty their platform, but no, they let him run wild. If the GOP heavyweights took him into a room and educated him on what he can/should say and what he cannot say, I think he wouldn't come across as such a buffoon. And for those of you who say he does what he wants and will fire anyone who crosses him - he cannot fire senators and congress members. Even stick their necks out and say, "What the President said earlier about the sky being red? We want you to know that the Senate and Congress are staying with the opinion that from what we observe, the sky is indeed blue." Enough of that shit and Trump would shut up. But no, they let him run wild with zero consequences.

We are fucked.

Nice to see you’re still alive, falling sky! I worry that the mentally ill can harm themselves if triggered.

You and your libby media are absurd and pathetic. Fortunately you’re both irrelevant now that cancel culture is over.

I’ve been amazed at how many common sense campaign promises he has fulfilled in the first week. My faith in this country is beginning to be restored.

The longer it goes, the more the media will make him "own it." He put the scumbags at the WEF on notice yesterday. Zelinskyy's 200,000 troops "min-e-mum" will ALL have to come from Western Europe. Ukraine is Europe's problem.

I just love how all the Repubs - who USED to be hardliners on the spread of communism and proud to be the world's police, now have ZERO problems with a country that is our ally becoming re-swallowed up by Russia. WHY is it ok to abandon an ally now? I am of Ukrainian descent, and it really pisses me off that it is now ok to let Putin have Ukraine and for the US to withdraw aid. WHY??

Should we force our hand and have Europe and NATO kick in some more $$? Absolutely. Should we leave Ukraine in the dust? No, and I am sickened by people who think that we should.
