Isn't that what obama proclaimed? There would be no debate, there would not be a cahnce to take the bill apart, it was all or nothing?

Well, unless the dems do it! First they rewrite the funding but still know it can't pass. So now they are doing exactly what republicans proposed, looking at the pieces that make sense and those that don't. Funny, congress is making progress as soon as obama has gotten so busy with campaigning that he isn't paying attention!

As Romney eloquently stated tonight, President Obama is a well-intended man but in a bit over his head. I was impressed w/ Romney tonight and at this point think a Romney/Cain ticket would be a good one.

By the way, don't sell that 9 9 9 plan short. It has some good ideas - not the least of which is simplicity.

It is a strong proposal but will not pass for two reasons. One, it gets rid of the extremely progressive tax system that has been adapted by the US, and two, it opens a can of worms to allow another mechanism of taxation. As we have watched over the year, no constitutional amendment or policy is able to withstand without alteration so I think the only way a consumption tax passes is with full repeal of federal income taxes. What obama has yet to figure out is people want real reform and change but are actually uncomfortable with massive, wholesales moves.

I am impressed with Romney and his ability to state his case, put the other candidate in proper perspective, without looking petty or like some rapid attack animal. That's a sharp contrast to Huntsman's pettiness. Perry wasa darned near invisible.

No Judeo republican voted for this. I would make them Filibuster. But the dems will not. Again, no spine.
