Thinking about pursuing a position with this company. Is hospice sales really as bad as everyone says? Coming from pharma, so is this a resume killer? Please give me realistic views about the job. Is the turnover that high because of the pressure?

Tons of competition, many with more to offer than Vitas. Vitas forces everyone to work ridiculous hours with tons of busy work. 10-15 calls a day. No office days. Pharma is not a resume killer but this is hardcore sales where basically anything within reason goes. The turnover is high because the hours are too long for the money and some aspects are very disorganized. The concept and service are a rewarding sell. Training at Vitas is barebones. Either you end up with a good team, no team or idiots.

I thought Vitas was the biggest hospice company out there. How'd they get the way and how do they manage to stay on top if everything is so bad about them?
