Virtual call quota, again

Heard from our manager recently that senior level leaders are pushing for 20% of our calls to be virtual, again.

Problem is that phone calls don't count - only Veeva Engage, Zoom or Facetime. The HCP has to "see" you for the call to count.

Good luck with that. Hard enough to get the doctors to talk when we are right in front of them, in person. Cannot imagine the virtual thing is going to fly.

During Covid many doctors had more time. Now with ever falling reimbursements, the HCPs are running full tilt. Having the virtual option is nice when needed, but forcing it is just stupid.

I sincerely hope this is where live access remains lower than other parts of nation. We are almost to pre-COVID live access and HCPS who allow us in don’t even want us to email/text them. If they are willing to let us see them, I’m good doing my job F2F and going to find them if they don’t make it into the lunchroom vs asking office staff to carry the cellphone to help me connect at a lunch they didn’t come to. A vendor has sold Sr Leadership a bill of goods.

The manic nature of the new metrics mandate indicates something bigger on the horizon. Senior leaders are freaking out, this was intentionally designed to easily get rid of the pee on field sales force who won’t make the metrics. headcount reduction without layoff packages=Genius.

AZ to go the way of Pfizer. Pfizer leased abandoned Target stores in very bad low income hood areas for cheap rent. They then opened up call centers and staffed them with high school graduates who get paid by the number of calls they do. They have no benefits. Some aren't even making a minimum wage. This boiler room atmosphere goes on while their CEO made an 88 million dollar bonus on the back of the COVID pandemic.
AZ is hoping to cash in on getting rid of its sales reps also.

interesting in conjunction with the focus on work post. This seems like a McKinsey driven initiative. They have driven so many of the big projects across Pharma for last 10 years. All Pharma follows their lead as Pharma leaders rarely think for themselves. FOMO at its worst.

this industry has shrunk to new lows- please just eliminate us already- this job is all smoke and mirrors
