Viacord wants to know CBR process...anyone out there want to tell...? ;)

So many disgruntal CBR peons out there so here it goes...

Step 1 is R&R (Records and Receiving) They label the bag units and give them to the next technician

2: Pre-Processing...This is where we scan the bag sets and take the blood and move it into the Theromogenesis bag. We use ABE...which is an auto express platform cause too many techs were going to concentra due to work related injuries after long grueling days. We also aliquot out blood into a bactec bottle and load it into the automated bactec machine as well as take an aliquot for hematology. Pro-vue is used for blood typing as well as a Sysmec machine for cell count. We also do manuals/morphology.

3: Dock: This is where we spin the bags in a centerfuge...each one can hold 6 and the bags seperate the plasma, rbcs and stem cells into seperate compartments. Each thermo device prints a graph that we view and hand off to either a manager, if the bag set broke in the centerfuge, which it is known for, or we pass it on if it passes.

4: Post processing. Here we use RF sealers to seal off tubing and we discard the RBC as well as the plasma bags. We take another aliquot for Hematology and pass it on to the next station.

5: DMSO infusion: Here to have a rocker as well as DMSO, which we infuse into the bag sets at a given rate controlled by an automatic pump. Once the pump has finished priming the bags with the freezing agent, we move the bags to a sealer, which was made for us...this sealer often rips the bags or melts them lol. P.O.S. if you ask me...the sealer is able to seal all parts of the bag set at one time...

6: CRYO: Here the highschool technician scans in the bag set and assigns a location in the dewar/rack and places into a cassette. When the racks are full, the tech brings them to the deep freezers, which lowers the temp in critical stages and then places them in the dewar.

The Kaizen or LEAN method for this whole process is annoying...we are given roughly 3-something min's per sample at Pre and it sucks ALL DAY....fucking horrribel
