Do you mean no increase in Pay Grade? What about the opportunity to move to a different position, does it follow you? Is it verbally shared so that it sabatoges you at the interview?

This is the first step in the Lilly discipline process for inadequate/unacceptable performance. Although it is called 'verbal warning' it is generally documented through an e-mail to the affected employee, which is forwarded to HR at discretion of management/supervisor. So it could end up in your employee file. However, there should be clear direction from the supervisor to improve performance in the near term. If successful for some period of time
following the warning (like 3-6 mo), the employee should be considered back in good standing with no long term repercussions. I think it is meant to be an official 'wake-up call'.

I'm afraid this is true as all leadership is being called to reduce staff while also reducing the number of costly reallocations needed. Performance management is just the tool. It's not how well you perform, but how well you perform against your peers. The bottom 10% must go every year now, regardless of how they performed.
Record ALL conversations, via concealed device, with your supervisor, HR, etc. Begin transferring key files/documents/e-mails to a personal flash drive for insurance. Think of it as your Own Personal Document Retention Schedule. Trust me, you will need these to ensure a worthy lump-sum payment at the appropriate time. You must have the upper hand.

Happened to me last year due to outdated marketing material in my trunk. DSM sent, me an e-mail, had to review compliance policy....end of the year instead of being High Successful, got a Successful....that was it. I thought that I had the right hibbert materials and I was wrong.....which is a whole other story.
I would recommend getting your numbers up, so you don't go from S to LS...other than that don't worry.

You must be evil HR. I once received verbal and written warnings, and tore the manager into shreds during an HR meeting. Yes, I threatened legal action. It works. Try it.
BTW after this incident, I was assigned elsewhere with great success, then let them have it at the very worst of times - for them. Dishonesty is very bad poison.

I have done this and continue to do this since I as put on a warning. Even when I am off and until I retire from Lilly I will continue to do this. TRUST NO ONE!!!!! This is what I have been told to do from a legal standpoint.
