The fact: During Vance’s 2022 run for U.S. Senate in Ohio, he declared that he was open to a national abortion ban, noting that, unless one was implemented, people seeking an abortion in a state where the procedure is illegal would be able to travel to a state where it’s legal.

Quoting him, “I certainly would like abortion to be illegal nationally,” Vance said in January 2022 on a podcast.
