Vaccines - multiple strategies every Quarter

No, the real problem was the Pfizer buy out of Wyeth. Until that happened, vaccines was its own place full of people committed to the patient, committed to each other, who produced steady, predictable LONG TERM progress.

Now, we are only interested in maximizing the current quarter sales.

Pfizer killed this place.

And so has Bill Barto

Blow out once in a lifetime year 2016 set a new baseline which cant be exceeded we are still growing the bottom line way above ped only but not enough to beat 2016 so management is freaking out and its flowing downhill. Should be celebrating continued growth but instead former stellar sales force stinks and threats of downsizing - thats the way to motivate! Angela got out on a high now John and Eric are stuck to preform so they can check the box and get promoted. Meanwhile sales force all out at 110% effort with the CUSTOMERS to get as much as possible.

If the current upper management would try to believe in us, it would help. Now we get all blame and threats, activity micro focus and lack of real communication. Amazing how much we have changed

Did you really think that it would stay the same as it was with Wyeth??? That was a once in a lifetime dreamworld situation. Great pay, small salesforce, no turnover, minimal work, no one bothering us....ahhh the good old days.

I was not in Wyeth. All my Vaccines time is in recent years. All I am saying is the current regime is not the same as it was in the three or four years before. Too much primary care mentality for the business we were allowed to build in Vaccines.

And WTF is a MANDATORY WebEx meeting scheduled for this Friday 3:00 - 4:30 pm? Just goes to show you what the Prevnar Adult Marketing Team thinks of the Sales team. They try to make everything as miserable as possible. Hey, every week, when the Marketing team is sitting on their fat arses at home on Fridays , we are out pounding the pavement. I want to end my week by completing the paperwork and planning what I'll be doing the next week. Now I am forced to listen to some outside consultant school us on some other asinine thing that won't grow my business for an hour and a half. There is no other day of the week you could schedule for another one of your boring, ridiculous presentations? And to label it as MANDATORY in all caps - as if we are idiots? Why does John allow his Sales team to be treated like crap????????

Sorry, it is not about you. It is when it is convenient for them. Screw the west coast folks, they cancel lunches and appointments during the adult immunization season to be on a MANDATORY call. Damn sure better be important

Three or four years ago there were still L-Wyeth people around in positions of power... Those days are over with Pfizer people now entrenched.

Extra stress can turn bosses into micromanagers, argues Google's Caterina Kostoula in Fast Company. And micromanagement has the destructive power to kill your team's creativity, drive employees to quit, and negatively affect the physical and emotional health of everyone involved. But it doesn't have to be that way: Take a beat, ask yourself if you are taking on too much, get feedback from your team, and commit to making a change. "Resist the urge to interfere," writes Kostoula. "Done good enough by your team is better than done perfectly (does that even exist?) by you." •

Did anyone see all the job postings for Vaccine Sales Reps for inVentiv on a Pfizer contract? Is this the reason for all the layoffs? - to make room for a contract sales force?
