Unfortunately the Urology Division and most divisions at Olympus are a mess. The culture is on a continuous decline, and the pay has been on a decline for at least 5 years. I worked there for quite a few years and was very relieved when I left along with probably about 40% of the sales force recently. There are many tenured reps leaving, and I would estimate most reps are interviewing, and some will leave soon. Unfortunately, the leadership is in over their heads, the FDA has Olympus in their cross hairs, and there are a large number of items on backorder. All customers are quite upset with Olympus products and the inability to deliver and to be a good partner. I believe they will be under scrutiny by the government and FDA for a few years probably, so things will more than likely get worse. It will take a few years to get turned around, or they will go under. The products are great, but they are in big trouble on many fronts. If you talk to any of the reps or managers, I’m sure they will give you this same report.
