I think most people understand what unions did for workers and the need at one time, but also know that unions' time is past and they destroy the ability for businesses to be profitable and drive business from high union states.
Here are some interesting articles.
This first one was hardly mentioned during the lame duck congress, and shows blatant attempts to force people to pay in to the union coffers, regardless of your personal views about the union. This California congressman is attempting to end right to work laws.

This one shows how the so called 'cadillac' tax on medical insurance plans will be a huge tax for non-union workers, but union members will be exempt.

I especially enjoyed this article that shows while libbies are screamming about corporations contributing to political candidates, they have absolutely no issue with unions buying dems.

In California, public-employee unions spent about $25 million to elect Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown. And they've seeded California's state legislature with union operatives from the highest levels on down. One union leader was caught on tape telling elected officials: "We helped to get you into office, and we got a good memory. Come November, if you don't back our program, we'll get you out of office."
