UHS Surgical Services Is crashing!

Any of UHS surgical services Competition will love this. The company "re-structured" changed the way their Reps get paid for a majority if the country. It's on a per case basis, and it has caused many many techs to leave the company. So if your hiring, good news, also customer service is taking a huge hit. Get in there and acquire their accounts!, this is an excellent opportunity for other medical laser companies to jump in and look like hero's.

Remember, if you take care of your employees, They will take care of you.

A lesson UHS has no concept of!

Cheers,
The competition!
We have acquired two accounts and 4 techs as of today :)

I knew it would happen. So much debt was acquired to buy these laser companies and management knew nothing about how to market or run the business. It was only a matter of time before these stupid changes were made. $20 that UHS SS is sold off in the next 120 days.

Kudos to another mega cluster F Blackford and crew

Like Singer or not, Jeff understood that it is a people business. Tim K has his name all over the pay structure...............here is the secret............. Tim has a hard time justifying a good pay plan as he does not see the value in people and the work they do. He would love many more on-demand employees. He thinks most pay plans are too high, except for his own pay plan. NEWSFLASH!!!!!!!! all the field work is done by people... all the work done at corp is in done in meetings.

Loved working at PRI. Good people. The few times I have had to contact UHS Corp.......VERY BAD! I'm sorry that you didn't have time for me.

A former PRI co-workers Boss would love to take me to lunch. Again.

Nice to be wanted.

Not to worry. There's a new sheriff in town and he's got cruise line experience. He should feel at home on the SS Titanic. :)

On April 10, 2013, Patrick Sinclair was appointed to serve as President of UHS Surgical Services, Inc. (“Surgical Services”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Hospital Services, Inc. (the “Company”), effective April 22, 2013. As President of Surgical Services, Mr. Sinclair will be responsible for all of Surgical Services’ functions, including sales, operational and financial functions, and will report to the Company’s Chairman and CEO, Gary Blackford.

Mr. Sinclair is 44 years old. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Sinclair was a Senior Vice President with Accretive Health, a provider of revenue cycle services and solutions to the U.S. healthcare industry. Before that, Mr. Sinclair was the Vice President — Energy Management and Vice President — IT Strategy & Applications for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Mr. Sinclair’s career began at Accenture where he worked his way up to Partner. There are no arrangements or understandings between Mr. Sinclair and any other persons pursuant to which Mr. Sinclair was selected as President of Surgical Services. Mr. Sinclair does not have a direct or indirect material interest in any currently proposed transaction to which the Company is to be a party in which the amount involved exceeds $120,000, nor has Mr. Sinclair had a direct or indirect material interest in any such transaction since the beginning of the Company’s last fiscal year.

The material terms of Mr. Sinclair’s compensation arrangement with the company include a base salary of $375,000 per year, an annual performance-based incentive award targeted at 70% of Mr. Sinclair’s base salary, and such health, life, disability and other benefits as are generally made available by the Company to its executive employees. In addition, the Company has recommended to the Company’s compensation committee that Mr. Sinclair be awarded options to purchase stock of the Company’s parent, UHS Holdco, Inc. at a level commensurate to the Company’s other executive employees. The purchase price of such stock options will be equal to the stock’s fair market value at the date of the grant, and the options will vest over a six-year period with one-sixth vesting on December 31 of each year of the six-year period, subject to Mr. Sinclair’s continuing employment with the Company.

If UHS truly wanted to be successful they would promote from within. Truly great companies do this. When you hire from the outside you are showing your current employees that they are not smart enough or held in high enough regards to get promoted into a higher level. Internal promotions stop at OM level and for the most part Directors are either not going anywhere or they come from the outside. The lack of vertical opportunities is why I have decidied to venture elsewhere. Expect to see a management position open soon. Best of luck to UHS. They need to be lucky to survive the Blackford era because "good" flew out the window years ago.

Promote from within.........is this a good mark of a company? YES! The issue here is the decision makers are afraid of loyalty. Loyalty to the UHS workers and helping them be successful. If UHS greatest asset is their people, then why not promote?

Former Royal Caribbean Clown

Good luck with Sinclair..what a mess he left at Royal Caribbean! The guy is an idiot..great salesman to sell his worthless resume!

After Sinclair "streamlines" SS everyone will wish they had Singer back. This is the best they could find to run this UHS silo? The best thing Sinclair ever did in his career was to invest in economical shower heads in all the cruise ships.

$375K/year for him? Please.

Came from PRI, loved my job, loved my co-workers, loved the OR's that I served. A few months after UHS S.S. "took over" I got sick and had to take short term disability. 3 weeks later when I was ready to return they fired me "for not calling out properly"... yeah, I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance and admitted...sorry I didn't call out on time. If the tech's really are jumping ship at such a fast rate, maybe they'd like to have me back. ::shakin my head::

Beware.....
Manny Galvez has jumped ship to Freedom Medical....
The .99 cent store of medical devices....as of 11/2013
Tell me why a guy who went around HATING Freedom Medical is now working for the?
What about the Lawsuit?
Freedom Medical has a minimal supply of mismatched crap medical devices they buy cheaply from depetaye hospitals and EBay to get rid of the problem equipment.
Would you want your family, child, spouse, friend on any of this crap?
Freedom Medical is a JOKE!
Just waiting for a patient incident in my office in San Francisco to be released from this hellhole!
I'm currently looking and have been on numerous job interviews, funny they have no clue they pay me to look for other emplyment.
We have no documentation
We have no equipment
And we are now owned by RAF Industries because the screwball owners think we will be the next big bed company, trust me my years with UHS and Sizewise know this company SUCKS!

I'm glad to see UHS SS crashing. I was there during the merger and I'm glad I left before it got worse. UHS SS does not care for its employees. It is all about working them to death. Under pay them and over work them. Keep the idiots in charge and watch those with potential either leave or quit. Plain and simple. I heard through the grape vine that a lot of individuals with over 5+ years tenure have either quit or been fired. Doesn't that speak volumes?
