You have either two weeks or two months until D-day. Regardless of whether you survive or not start the job search NOW. You should see if you can get the statistic of the percent of Valeant workers that survive after the layoffs- how many are left two years after the acquisition.
If the percent is 10 percent - slow job search
If the percent is 50 percent- moderate job search
If the percent is 90 percent - aggressive job search
Do the responsible thing and consider the probability of maintaining a job at Valeant (B+L) in the long run. If the percent probability is low you should find something else (anything else) to maintain your long-term career. You may have nothing to lose by taking on a new job. Working at Valeant is not fun based on the posts on this site.
