Two weeks notice

Does anyone know what procedure is when you give your two week notice?

Do they let us work two weeks or do they pull us from field?

Are you paid for the two weeks if they pull you from field?

What else should I know?

Thanks for all serious replies.

What is your project # and territory? It would be helpful in order to specifically address question.

BS!!!!!! You most likely do not need to know project number to answer and you CERTAINLY DO NOT need to know the territory! Hell, why not just ask their name and Q mgr name and Project mgr name while you are at it!!!!!!!!

To the rep asking the question, as is usually customary, if you give two weeks notice, you are usually paid for that and they tell you to stay out of the field. You are usually packing up stuff and closing out. Depending on the Q contract, you may be forfeiting the "bonus" money but not totally sure about that, it may be project specific. my guess, there is a document you were most likely given that spells all of this out for your specific project.

Outside of Pharma?? GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! I am jealous! Wish I could get the hell out of pharma! This is not what it used to be, but managers continue to manage as though it were 1980 or even 1990!

How fucking old are you?

Haha! Been doing this for 11 years, but have many friends/ former team mates from past companies who told me stories from better times. From what I have heard, it sounds like this job was alot more fun! Honestly, was better even 11yrs ago than now. Soo many rules now that weren't an issue ten yrs ago.

One think I can assure you is that you will not get your bonus for Q2 if you are not employed on the day the bonus is paid. Trust me I know this for a fact. Congrats on getting out of this hell hole called pharma sales. I have an interview later this week outside of pharma and I am so excited just to have a chance to get out of pharma, which had been good to me for 14 years but the last few months on this contract have been a joke. This is far from professional sales as you can get, at least being a CSO.

I gave my two week notice, and they ended my employment that day. Project 6326. So much for doing the right thing. They are setting a precendent that is not good in the business world. If people start to find this out, they will never give a 2 week notice and leave them high and dry. I was fortunate enough to get my Q2 bonus, because our contract ended.

They should disclose the termination process to the employees and if they are or are not going to accept a 2 week notice on a given project.

Good luck to you.

I gave my 2-week for 6517 in Az and immediately no need to make sales calls, you just complete your business expenses and send everything off. You get paid for the full 2 weeks. I should have waited a few weeks longer to get the commission check - just wanted out. So don't forget your timing.

Next bonus payout is not until October so you would have to give a 10 week notice to get that, plus I am sure they will delay the payout when the check is due!

I did the right thing and gave my DM 2 wks notice in august. She made a phone call to the Quintiles RBD who told her to immediately cut me loose....and I was in the top 10%. She followed me to my house and took everything but the car and assured me that since I gave 2 wks notice in writing I would be paid for those 2 wks. I suddenly did not have a good feeling about it and called HR. I was immediately informed that no---my pay would end that day. So DO NOT GIVE NOTICE WHATSOEVER on a Quintiles contract. Whenever you want your last day of pay to be, that's the day you resign. I later advised HR they should inform new hires what the termination process would be should they voluntarily decide to separate from the contract. Luckily for me, my new company moved up my start date so I didn't have to go without pay. Strangely enough, I did receive a bonus payout several weeks later for Q2 that I wasn't expecting or supposed to receive. Spread the word though---do not give notice on a Q contract. I would've hated to be so unprofessional, but if I knew then what I know now--I wouldn't have given notice.
