Fools

Why would you leave a job you can make 150K at while only working 25-30 hours a week

Clearly you have not figured it out

Most people with a brain see the writing on the wall and know this isn't sustainable. But by all means make 150k if your lucky for another year before you're laid off and all the new jobs are filled by people who caught on early...

And that is why we are seeing the drops in our pay and variable. GP isn't stupid. He knows that most of us don't work a full 40 hours. My guess is that future comp plans will be more unattainable and the days of even making $150 a year will be harder to hit.

Is anyone else burned out? I am really tired of bothering surgeons with the same ol boring products. I haven't made a call or gone in surgery for 2 weeks. At the end of my rope

I can't believe that some of you are able to work less than 40 hours per week. I am working at least 60 and usually more. The frustrating thing is that I'm still not hitting my number. Before you crap on me for being a lousy rep, I have won Winner's Circle 3 times.

If you are a TL and you are doing your job correctly, you are underpaid. If you are one of the lucky ones able to work shorter hours and the territory is on autopilot, just enjoy it while you can. The consultants are coming, purchasing power is increasing and surgeons are less and less involved in decision making. You had better find some other opportunities or prepare to work harder because your life is about to get more difficult.

You are actually overpaid even working 60+ hours. This job is not true selling and hunting for business and standing in the OR as a warm body is not real work IMO . Do admire though your work ethic as this culture often breeds lazy entitled reps with an inflated opinion of the "value" they provide for the most part.

This. I think some of the complacency comes from the obvious monotony and boredom of schlepping and discussing the same shit. Paid decently or not - is that lack of fulfillment from M-F worth the money? Debating.
