Trying This Idea for Medical Supply Sales

I have been trying to start a company on my own. Here is the idea, I am taking wholesale med supplies from a distributor like Medline, marking them up say 20% and hiring ISR's to solicit small doctors offices and sell them. I am also putting them on a websight.. is this just a crazy idea. Does anyone have any ideas. I am not new to selling but I am new to this business. My focus is not on anything specific or intricate just basic office supplies. Has this been thought of? Any reasonable feedback would be appreciated.

PSS would probably be the biggest competition. What state are you in?

The issue you face is one of rebates. Medline would only sell to you at list (or near list) and then you would need to report sales back to Medline for sales tracing rebates.

Sorry - this is how we control the market and pricing for customers. There is no way around this - some do it online, but they cheat on the pricing and shipping charges so it is no cheaper than going to Wallgreens.

Best of luck - this is how the market is structured.

Sorry for not replying sooner! Just read post. The person who replied obviously works for one of the big competitors. There is a profit to be made, but its very low since you will be competing with the big boys like PSS and Moore Medical. If you are still interested in doing this let communicate.
