Training is easy and effective. You'll do home study for a week or so and then ride along with a current rep for a couple of days. After that, you go to NJ for a few days for role playing.

How long does it take for the background check? I don't know of many companies that bring you on prior to that being completed, yet it seems they are.

It's not a big deal. You will do a sales call with the hiring manager through Skype. The area director and someone from HR will be on the call but you wont see them during the call. You get to pick the product you are selling. The manager will want to know what you are selling prior to the call and will likely ask you for common objections you would get with the product. Be prepared to get that objection, and be prepared to handle it. Of course, close the sale. Itll take maybe 3-5 minutes. You'll chit chat with everyone before it begins. Again, not really a big deal. They just want to see how you deliver a sales call and if you can handle objections.
