Please be nice and not trash talk. I am a former rep who did pretty good at training. I am now getting older over 40 and not sure I can still handle training with the young folks. 1st how hard are the written tests 2nd how hard is the roll play at training I understand they tape every thing. Please be nice and just lay it on the line for me. Thanks in advance for all feed back.

Far be it from me to stop you from coming here if you really need the job, but you should know that it's not a happy place to be at right now. With that being said, training is long. The role plays are taped, although quite honestly, my manager has never given me feedback on them. I wouldn't say the home study is hard, but I would say the test questions are tricky. If you fail (I think), 3 tests, you are done here. You also get a roommate for the time you are at Commack. Good luck!

you will be treated like a slave and have to show your licking skills

Age discrimination is rampant here among the 25 year old DMs. However, if they made you an offer it was probably "low ball" so they won't be looking to offload you for your "high salary" yet. In that case you'll be OK as long as you don't challenge any of their rookie tactics until you approach 50. At that point you're doomed no matter what you do unless you can get to executive VP by then.

Do you want us to lay it on the line or be nice? Which is it? We can't do both.

I thought the home study was the worst 2 weeks of my life. The training was a snap but boring. If you fail 4 exams (and you have about 40 to take), you are automatically terminated. That includes the home exams and the exams at training. 90% of the exams are taken at home. They do not teach you anything really at training and the food at lunch is worse than the food you buy at a gas station. Almost everyone lived on PBJs - no joke. If you go to training and have already failed 3 exams, you only have one failure left. I believe passing is 85%. A few people were sent home at training. One girl took a test at noon and by 5PM, that very day she was on a plane home! They picked her up, took her to the hotel, told her to pack her bags & took her to the airport - no goodbyes to anyone! Forest has high turnover and is a rotten company really.

You're fine over 40, probably better off because won't take the b s too seriously. You read the info in the modules they send for home study to PASS not to understand. Don't over think it. If you're looking to get promoted and make big bucks at this point, it's unlikely at best. If you're looking for a decent paying JOB with typical corporate b s, you're good.

Written by a true Forest rep- that's for sure. Key words "PASS, not to understand." This is why Forest reps are not viewed by physicians as valuable resources and instead ask "Would you like me to sign?" Interesting.....
