All,
To me it's the industry that is really dying; not just the Linvatec's, Mitek's or Smith & Nephew's. Our market has matured and reps are realizing these device jobs just don't offer the same compensation as in the past and expectations are higher than ever. Even the mighty Stryker has suffered on their capital side.
GPO's have destroyed the industry and no one likes to talk about it, but it's similar to the old copier industry. When it was young it was easy to sell and the reps killed it, so everyone wanted to be in that industry...sound familiar. Market saturation and stalled innovation lead the industry to what it is today...just a dog-fight/proving-ground for young salespeople.
I'm sure many will disagree, but without knowing which direction the government will go with healthcare...I know I'm looking for that National Account Manager Job in some other industry..ha.
