I could not possible disagree more posts finding fault with this lawsuit or the fact that Pfizer was among the most prolific violaters of labor law. There is no reasoned discussion over the absurd demands that are made on representatives time. If all this useless paperwork and "plans" were worthwhile explain the absence of earnings and the impending reduction in personnel. The entire industry has been ruined by "nitwits" who lack extensive field sales experience being promoted into management .........just like "Goober".

You my friend are a GOOBER! Wait til you have to work in the real world. You will see just how good "reps" had it. You will work your 40 hours and get 1/2 of what you get paid now. Jeeez! I guess it takes all kind to make the world turn but I hope I never have to supervise you and your mentality. You will always be working for "the man". LOL!
 




This is not a victory for reps. It is a shame. Lawyers will get rich and the rest of us will soon be treated as hourly employees. Clock in, clock out, no bonus. And why? Because you weren't paid overtime for eating dinner at a steakhouse while listening to a medical lecture.

I'm in the real world where there are "two" jobs posted within 30 miles of my home that pay 40,000 or more. Of course I am "qualified" for neither (not a nurse or a software designer). Looking for half....no....just a job. I've had it good and I've survived some intense training for the worst imaginable situation. In my world you would not be qualified to supervise anybody. You sound like a typical management nitwit.

What the hell are you talking about? There are plenty of sales jobs that pay such as pharma in & out the med field. I dont care about getting extra $for working more than 40hrs but if nothing comes of this but that working over 50, 60 hours is a thing of the past - great.


I for one can't stand that because you are salary - companies (not just pharma) can rape you. There should be some decency if you boast work life balance. I have no prob if you put in the job ad, hours expected etc and nothing about work life balance. But if you boast about work life balance; then I don't expect to be working 50+ hours.

Some of you peope have never lived outside pharma & think only pharma reps had it so good. The economy sucks right now is the only bad thing. If things were more normal - trust me there is life outside pharma & $ to be made.
 




You crack me up, keep thinking that there is life outside of pharma. No one cares about you out there. You can't and don't sell you were glorified caterers. No you are nothing and computers and call centers will dominate your new world. Hello operator #13.

Dude, you so misread this article. This article is ONE MANS OPINION about what could happen. It basically represents the most outrageous and over the top scenarios possible. For example, EXEMPT people in the home office, DO NOT "punch a clock" daily, and do not clock 1n/out for lunch. The article makes a great theoretical point, but the specifics are truly outrageous.

You are smoking crack on multiple counts:

- You actually think that being a rep prepares you for anything thing other that "being a rep", and that it gives you transferable skills.

- You think that there are many more than a handful of other sales positions that will pay you a base of 100K+, and car, etc. This is just patently false, and the few that MIGHT exist, a pharma rep would not qualify for. For example, you might find an ad for some high end software sales that MIGHT approach 100K in base, but there will be a requirement of multiple years of successful SOFTWARE sales.

- You actually think that the typical rep works 50+ hours per week. That comment is just a joke.
