Top paid stent reps

No. Top territory in country last year was $13million at 2.1% commission and an 80K base - $350k total.
Avg coronary stent rep at Abbott has a $6million territory at 2.1% commission and an $80K base, making avg total comp at $205K, and with drop in ASP's and Medtronic coming out with Resolute, it's going to get worse, however, if Bioresorbable stents make it to market money will start getting better.

BVS wont be the game changer some think it will be(serruys), why?

Simply, unlike cypher and other breakthru technologies, it likley wont show superiority to DES/Standard of care.

So, how can hospitals(most MD's will work for hospitals by then) justify what is likely to be a huge price bump for BVS?

It will be a nice product but as an ex BSC rep who did well with the original Taxus stents told me, "my Docs used cypher even though they hated the rep"

Why? fear of litigation as it was so superior data wise to bare metal stents................

If BVS is shown to simply be as good as say everolimus or like DES stent? can a patient sue? doubtful.

Nice world we live in huh? abbott execs need to wake up from this dream world if they think this is going to be the end all be all

oh, and the play to rename it from DES to BVS suggests Abbott wil llooby for higher reimbusement arguing its a "new device" vs an improved DE

In this environment with obama likley to win again, good luck gys!

BTW, JNJ has 100 billion in the bank, start the process before they take out a weak BSX.....................
