Too many hired?

feels like a lot of folks have joined us. Meeting was packed with a ton of new faces. Is this head count increase logical? Anyone else scratching their head wondering how long this can last?

Definitely too many reps/territories for current revenue but forecasts must support expansion. The bigger problem is why risk it? Nothing to gain by hiring and then firing reps...it has a negative impact at all levels. And then no one will jump on board if they the company gets a reputation for hiring/firing...then you have to hire people not qualified just looking for a bigger paycheck. I think if we get NMO and future product we will be fine. Thoughts?

since youbasked for thoughts here they are. Look at the resumes of your CEO and CCO they were primary care at Novartis. They are hiring primary care guys. Share of voice, new Pfizer Guys message to sales leaders was “the most important thing you and your team can do is .......... enter your calls everyday. We’re watching call activity”. And ALXN just died

Thank You! I worked under them at Novartis. The mentality as primary care and yes they have a remarkable experience is but that does not translate into this field and current market place. Expansions also allow for them to justify their jobs and show that they’ve done something on their resume and to the board. Success does not necessarily translate into anything else. They can say they did something, if it doesn’t go well these guys get parachute anyway. Who’s left at the end, just us.

I’ve seen a local RAM spot advertised off and on over the past 4 years or so. Literally gets posted everywhere, and on a 4-6 month rotation. Are all these RAMs getting promoted after only < 6 months in territory? If so... congrats!!! What a wonderful company!

I received a call from a recruiter for a job that basically amounted to a DM role. They said it was part of the neuro expansion and the salary/bonus/stock equity was VERY high. Seems too good to be true.

Theranos 2.0
But more stressful.

Check out the Florida territory that they haven’t been able to fill for half a decade. WTH? Always thought sunny Florida would be a nice place to visit for a few years.

Okay... for 80%, Alexion is a career killer.
But if you can backfill a territory that’s done very well in a major metropolitan area with a butt load of KOLs, you might possibly... just maybe ... avoid seppuku within your first 12 months.
