Today is Separation Day!

Today is my last day as a Takeda employee. All team MED employees who were severed back on Feb 3rd will officially hit the bread lines tomorrow, no more paychecks, no more health insurance, etc.
Fortunately, starting tomorrow we can sign a release of liability and receive our severance checks minus 22% witholding, and Takeda will pay a subsidy to offset the difference for COBRA payments for the length of our severance period. Beyond that, it's over! For those that still remain, count your blessings and be happy and thankful you are still on payroll.

For those that get laid off in the future, know that Takeda treated us fairly during this process. The Wheels guy is coming to get the car today, but Takeda let us drive the car with insurance, and tolls (we paid the gas) paid for the entire separation period of 2 months. Many of us were able to fill-up with gas one last time the day after the announcement before they turned the fuel cards off. We also had another day or two on the network before we were logged off. Farewell Takeda!

Yeah, it's sad. I really liked promoting Motegrity, great drug for the patients! It just needed better managed care coverage, and Takeda didn't want to pay-to-play for coverage. Eohilia seemed doomed from the beginning, I mean EoE is like 1 in 2,000 people have it - rare, but we weren't going to be selling a biologic $$$$ like Dupixent. I think the FDA passed on it because Takeda was simply repackaging a generic steroid (Budesonide) with a slurry mix, and would charge people out the whazoo for what they could already get at the compound pharmacy for pennies! This is the kind of crap consumers....and the FDA do not like.

Maybe Takeda GI retail will return in another year or so down the road with some good new products!
