Mine is with us for two day ride alongs - at least every six weeks! Sometimes every four weeks. It is way too much. In seven + years in pharma, never had a manager with me so much. So sick of it.

The manager is the biggest wasted of money for every pharma company. They have a car, go sell something instead of babysitting reps. The one thing I would change about this industry is the manager ride a long. Makes every rep look totally stupid in front of customers and staff!!!!!!!!!!!!Get rid of all of them, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is one of the issues....we were told when we were hired that the ride along requirement was two days per quarter. For most reps I have talked to, it is double that. It may not sound like much, but for a part time job - it is a lot! My full time counterparts tell me I am with my manager more than they are - that's totally unfair.

What contract are you on? I was on a contract with another CSO and had 2 managers - client manager and CSO manager and BOTH would ride with me, sometimes it was 3 days in one month. Totally ridiculous. No value added whatsoever, no to mention embarrassing in front of doctors to haul your manager in so often.

Yes the Doctors actually get angry full time Merck reps. don't have their Boss as often as I have mine.

the bare minimum for contract is 1/qtr
