If I were a student at Penn State I would have transferred out this year. I'll be damned if I would go a Penn State diploma. I would be ashamed to show it to a prospective employer. But that's just me. I was raised on a moral code.
I never saw ONE protest on the Penn State campus against Sandusky or JoePa or the other enablers. Not one. That told me everything I needed to know about your student body.

Yep. And that's poetic justice. There is no human lower than one who sexually abuses an innocent child. Even savage wild animals don't engage in that behavior. It damages a child's psyche for a lifetime.

At first I was against the death penalty for Penn State. I really thought that Penn State fans watching their team struggle and suffer would be worse than the death penalty. Now I really think the NCAA should have shut the program down for 3-4 years instead.

You never saw a protest because you were not on the campus! Just like I never saw catholics protesting the vatican, Doesnt mean that they support priests raping kids. If it does mean that then why are catholic churches crowded on a weekly basis? Why is the pope still in his position? He knew what was going on? There is a new pope now and new priests. Do you punish them as well because they attend the Catholic church? If so my entire family is guilty. Better attend a different church huh?

Comparing the whole Catholic Faith to Penn State is totally absurd. Yes there are similarities between the Sandusky and child molesting Priests. The Pope doesn't have to answer to the NCAA but Penn State does.
Every time any University has major NCAA infractions we always hear, "why should the current players and coaches be punished?" There is no precedent for the NCAA definition of "lack of institutional control," than the preventable tragedy at Penn State.
This goes way beyond some players getting a $100 hand shake or Cam Newton's Dad pimping him out to Auburn for $200,000. Penn State threw themselves at the mercy of the NCAA by releasing the Freed report. The only way the NCAA can sanction a program is to take away past victories, bowl appearances and reduce the amount of scholarship players on a team. Penn State is lucky to even have a football team right now.
I think there is a lot of misdirected hate toward Penn State. People should hate the previous administration and not alumni, students, and current coaches and players. It will take years for Penn State to rise from the ashes but they have lots of alumni support and one of the largest football stadiums in college football. I think there is hope for the future but it is going to be very painful for Penn State fans to watch how they are going to struggle over the next 7-8 years.
Don't be an idiot. The student body held huge rallys for JoePa even after they knew he was a pedophile enabler. When the construction crew came to take down his statue in front of Beaver Stadium there was a large group of student protesters. It's disgusting that the student body would support a pedophile enabler. There was not one publicized noteworthy protest against Sandusky, et al, on campus. Had there been the media would have reported it. It seems to me that Penn State is a moral cesspool. I pray that those pedophile victims deplete the University Trust.
