To accept, or not too accept....feedback?

I am considering accepting an IS position with Merial.

I have a non-pharma sales and marketing background.

I am just trying to sort through the clutter here... as with any corporate establishment, I know there are pros and cons. I've been there, I've dealt with it in previous positions. From reviewing several threads here, it seems that it is pretty 50/50 (love/hate).

I am just trying to figure out if the pros outweigh the cons or vice versa.

Instead of one person choosing whether they LOVED/ or HATED their job.... In the following posts, I would be interested in why you DO like about it AND what you DON'T like, regardless if you are bias one way or the other. (I mean, if your still working there, there has to be SOMETHING you are holding on to right?)

Also, I'm trying to figure out what you mean by diverting sales? (From what I gather some reps can divert to larger accounts ie Target, that do all the work, yet they still figure out how to get a piece of it? anyone to clarify?)

I would be very appreciative for any insight.... Anyone?!

Animal health sales are pretty cool. Most reps really like it. I came from human and would never go back. I love pets and most vets are easy to deal with and very nice.

Diverters are vets who buy in large quatity and sell to the pet med express' of the world, which really piss our vets off.

Good luck.

Then vets must be really pissed at us. If you really believe that Pet Med, Target, Cabelas, Petco etc. etc. are receiving their Frontline from diverters you are in dire need of a reality check. We sell directly to these large format retailers.

Not only does Merial sell directly to OTC and internet companies...they spiff office staff to prescribe their product...undercutting the vet right in his/her own practice. Merial is a place for people that have no integrity and only care about money. Merial is scum.
