But libtards would contend that it is providing the wealthy tax cuts, or giving Ford an "unfair" advantage, or any number of stupid responses.

But they wouldn't say a thing about the middle class creation or the poor blue collar worker that has been scraping by on unemployment and odd jobs the last three years that could make his family a better life with these jobs.

In exchange for tax breaks on state withholding taxes, Ford agrees to keep the plant open and add a new product.

So, you are ok with the govt telling Ford what to do for that tax break? Isnt that like ransom? They MUST keep the plant open and add a new product but then what happens if neither of them are profitable?

False premise. Ford already has a new product in mind and had to build it somewhere. They just had to make a determination where to place the production facilities. They have been loking at southern states to escape the clutches of the unions. The state made it a win-win scenario where there are financial incentives for them to choose this location over another, increasing their likelihood of profitability by reducing costs. They already have trained staff and a fully operational and functional facility. This line will replace the Escape that was previously produced there. It's called a contract not forcing or-else action.

Compare this to bank loans with new rules added AFTER they were implemented and refusal to accept early loan payment (illegal in most loan transactions). Now THAT is ransom.

3700 jobs saved - all through a state and corporation agreement. And don't forget, this is a corporation who never took one red cent of bailout money, has improved their quality ratings to where they are on par with the highest rated foreign vehicles, and will be an example for automakers everywhere.

You dont read well, do you...

They MUST keep the plant open, despite its profitability.....no moving it to Singapore. State is telling them what to do...you know, interferring in private business.....Sounds like a regulation to me.

You really have some issues with grasp of the English language. Yes, they will stay open in exchange for tax breaks. This is a two year tax break deal. Ford is investing over $400 million and keeping the jobs at this plant. There is no binding agreement that if profitability is not there that they can't close, other than they lose those incentives. BTW, the same deal is open to other automotive suppliers and manufacturers from across the state.

The city has not told Ford how to manage their business, have not given them millions of dollars in the form of a blank check, and have not fired their CEO. The state didn't step in and take over Ford operations. They understood that a union worker in Missouri costs more than a non-union worker in Kentucky (not Singapore) so crafted tax incentives to allow the business to be equally profitable to stay where it was. Ford could take or leave the deal. It wasn't heavy handed government taking over like with GM. This is a city working with business, something obama will never learn.

The Missouri Manufacturing Jobs Act provides economic incentives for qualified automotive manufacturers and suppliers that invest in next-generation production and create or retain jobs in the state. Qualified employers must enter into a contract with the state to create or retain a specific number of jobs and make a significant capital investment in their production facility.

Employers only receive the incentives, in the form of a portion of the withholdings taxes for jobs created or retained, after they meet those specific benchmarks. Strict claw-back provisions protect taxpayers by requiring employers to repay incentives if they fail to meet investment requirements, discontinue manufacturing or hire illegal workers.

RAB doesn't understand business. That is why he is having such a difficult time with this...well that and he is a FUCKING r***** like Obama says.

Yet you guys accuse Obama and dems on how to run business when they provide tax incentives with their policy proposals.

OWNED!

And here is where you get OWNED again. YOUR party voted to close offshoring job loopholes and providing tax incentives to bring them BACK from overseas.

Senate Republicans successfully blocked a bill from coming to the Senate floor Tuesday that Democrats claim would help keep American jobs from going overseas.

Republicans call it nothing more than a pre-election political ploy.

The Democratic bill would have ended certain tax breaks for companies expanding overseas while giving new tax incentives to businesses bringing jobs home.

So, you can save the lessons on "how to create jobs" unless you can explain why the Democratic Party proposal wouldnt.

Right now, you're talking to the hands on this. Got that LambChop?
