Yep. The Peter Principle played itself out; it is a proven fact that it is not kosher to be promoted beyond one's capabilities. In the end, this inadequate skill set is only capable of pointing fingers at subordinates to explain the leadership failures of a leader for whom leadership skills were nonexistent.

Remember about 10 years ago when senior management was concerned about the management vacuum that was going to be created as managers retired, etc., and there was not enough trained managers in line to fill it? I guess they should have been more concerned about quality than quantity.
