Why wont someone tell us the truth? No new products, no incentive plan, no goals, no direction, and no leadership. Why can this company just come out and tell us that there is going to be a downsizing? Make folks work to keep their jobs.. It is so demotivating in the current environment.
 




The January downsizing sent a strong message that top performers can be let go and mediocre performers kept. THAT was the biggest demotivator for the field. If PPD wants to turn around the motivation, let them bring back some of the top performers over the last two years in their positions. Then focused contributions will mean something....
 




Yes, Abbott kept some brand new RM's with no track record and let go some that were awesome and had multiple All Stars. They said that the folks had more overlap- hmm is that the over arching criteria? You bet! Abbott does whatever they want with layoffs. It is not a very discerning company. They wouldnt recognize talent if it bit them in the eye socket. Not a good place to work. Great place to tread water and bide your time.
 




My last DM was let go in Jan. This DM was a consistent performer, respected by all and a hard worker. Why should I kill myself when excellence is rewarded with layoffs? That's the sales model that we are following. We don't care anymore Abbott because you don't care about us!
 




Hate to say the obvious but did anyone take a look at the environment we are in here?
PPD PC is going down the tubes fast as hell. THere is nothing to support this current structure or this many people. Don't look for a great environment under these circumstances.
Should they be unethical, no. Are they, yes. Do they care what the peeons think? HELL NO!!
Think for yourself. Don't expect much and give back the same. All IN!!

Well stated. It is obviously "every man for himself" from here on out. Performance means nothing at layoff time as we've already seen. What does that tell the people? "Dont bust your ass because it won't matter anyway at this point". The industry AND PPD are facing huge changes and nobody knows what to do, where to go etc. All you can do is sit tight and hope Abbott downsizes in an ethical manner, and avoids getting into a compliance or PIP "witch hunt" mentality to save on severance.
