The New Commercial Model...Sputters out with a wimper

Merck's ridiculoous corporate sloganeering is finally catching up with them...Management always thought they could bamboozle employees and shareholders with crap like "New Commerical Model." Before the ink is even dry on the annual report they send out, they have some new, equally ridiculous slogan...

I am glad my 7 year nightmare working in sales for Merck ended years ago...I still have a bit of the stock, but personally would be willing to lose the money to see the place just shrivel up and go away...

Merck as a corporation serves no one but the TOP 10 senior managers at this point...
They are a pox on society...

Pharma is dead...Merck is about as relevant these days as Studio 54 or Plato's retreat...LOL!

And poor Bob has been cast down with Barney & Diane & Barrack before the paint was even dry on the 'New Commercial Model' sign! What a bunch of idiots...they've done this for 30+ years and expect the salesforce to drink the purple 'Kool-aid' every time! One of the reasons they placed so few really tenured folks in S3's because they've seen it all and are not likely to get bullshit all over their shoes and call it peanut butter! There will be another slogan soon and new training on how to do it better than before! MyCall, the selling wheel, NCM, promotion for performance, pay for performance, and many others all created dead and laid to rest by the 'monster' that is Merck!

I know, it is so pathetic. But would we expect anything less from Merck. This is the Merck legacy alive and well. I relish every new initiative that gets rolled out to the field since it gives me the opportunity all over again to feign exhuberance and overwhelming eagerness to accept and adapt to Merck's latest and greatest best ever sales model. This is what still makes Merck fun for me. Take nothing seriously. Know it won't last. Laugh often. This has kept me sane for 31 years and counting at mother.

How much longer do you think you'll be laughing? With layoffs around the corner, conventional wisdom is that the high-salaried are targets.
