The Need for Human Embryos for Stem Cell Research...

Remember...amidst their harangues of Bush the war criminal (for doing what Obama has continued to sanction)...when the liberals were screaming that dead babies (fetus embryos) were essential to stem cell research?

Looks like Bush was right...once again.

"...used the cells to cure a mouse model of sickle-cell anemia. He later used a similar approach to treat a model of Parkinson’s disease in rats." :):)

Great post!

Yep, ole "dumb" dubya was right again when all the stupid "smart" people were wrong again! LOL!

Seriously, in an age of scarce financial resources it is exceedingly stupid to put money toward embryonic stem cell research. It has been more than firmly established that the right way to go scientifically, fiscally and MORALLY is ADULT stem cell research which has already yielded many therapies which are being used to effectively treat people TODAY. Peyton Manning for just once example.

Adult stem cells and embryonic stem cells are not interchangeable. They have different advantages and disadvantages. An embryonic stem cell has the capability of transforming into a variety of different cells. Adult stem cells are limited in that ability.

Continued research on both cell lines is essential in order to hopefully treat and cure a mutitude of diseases.

You didn't read the article that I linked to, did you?

Is the purpose of this post to tell us all how 'smart' George W Bush is?

W couldn't even string a sentence together and as far as his knowledge of science is concerned, he doesn't have enough to make a 'scientific' decision. That was a position he adapted to appeal to the conservative base - nothing more. As far as the war goes, he started it. It's kinda hard to get the salt back in the shaker after it's spilled. He never should have gone in in the first place, even Donald Trump spells that out and by the way, the Donald would have made a better president than W.

The argument for stem cells from embryos wasn't about 'killing babies for science', it was about using an already non living fetus as a source. Now we're finding other sources so this hot potato can be put away (as in it's a non-issue) so why are you bringing it up?

PS regarding Georgie Porgies smarts, this outta put that to rest:

Nope.

However, you of all people should refrain from critiquing someone's 'scientific' intellect. Doc Who even agreed with me when you foolishly celebrated the announcement of a stem cell research company that announced clinical trials of their stem cell material in early 2010. You praised Obama and extolled that that wouldn't have happened if Bush were president. Of course, their work had in fact occurred while Bush was president. To his credit, Doc Who posted that I was right on calling foul on your pronouncement. I believe Doc Who's words were to the effect: Vag, 4dview is right on this one.

Now, can we get back on topic: We don't need embryos for stem cell research. Most people, for a variety of reasons, would consider that a good thing.

Fine - get back on topic, like I said, if they aren't needed cool but then again, if needed and the embryo is already dead then you're just wasting a gift from MFAS's god that could have been used. But again, what's the point of your post? Is someone currently doing something you take offense to? Or are you just in a bitchy mood and digging up bones?
Speaking of bitchy...You're behaving like Rockenwolf with all your errant presumptions. And, you should take your own advice and stay on topic rather than airing your irrelevant (to this topic) political laundry.

I think it's very cool that we no longer need to let conflict and controversy get in the way of stem cell research. No doubt you'll find a problem with that, or you'll fly into another Bush tirade. Too bad for you.

Why didn't you just say that in the first place instead of going off on your 'libbie hissy fit:'?

I'll fly into a tirade? Dude - you started the thread, not me........:D
Ha! I'm just having another chuckle over you and your tirade on Bush's scientific intellect vs the now-debunked leftwing religion of AGW. Between Bush and Gore, Bush looks like the heavyweight scientist. Oh, by the way, another difference between Bush on stem cell research and Gore on AGW: Bush was right. And, judging from your posts above, that must really eat at you.

I've made it pretty clear here that I think they're all a bunch of lying bastards. What I think is funny is how you post this, "I think it's very cool that we no longer need to let conflict and controversy get in the way of stem cell research" yet you're still doing just that - bitching, calling names and creating conflict and controversy.

Read your fucking posts........... :D

Don't let another humiliating defeat cause you to have a bad attitude, Vag. Instead try to wise up!:D

Vag, did you really say that? I guess accidentally didn't point out in which post above that I called you names. Being a little sensitive are ya?

I do think it's very cool that we need not be concerned about harvesting dead babies, and

BTW, Bush was right. In fact, Obama is proving that Bush was right about a lot of things that were pillars of the Obama campaign.
