Let me make this real simple for the folks that haven't gotten yet, or think
things will ever change at Merck.

The CTLs only exist at this point to harass reps to the point that they go nuts
and leave. That is why they do the ride-a-longs every month, despite the
fact it loses the company business, and the offices hate it.

The CTLs enjoy salary, bonus and benefits that dwarf what other industries would
pay, considering the part time nature of the job. It is just mind boggling.

Make no mistake about it. Unless you are an S3, these CTLs are not your friends,
even if they pretend to be "cool" or friendly.

These people are sinister frauds that are willing to do Merck's dirty work to keep
the fat paychecks coming in.
 




Have seen quite a few upper boots on the group type field people in action....

A few are good...yep, title worthy.

BUT most S3, LERs seem no different than any S1, S2 in sales skills, product or disease knowledge, computer prowess and all the rest.. I think the same applies to many CTLs...have never seen one who really shows the way to their reps...

Why or how one becomes an S3, LER and even CTL seems like a true mystery of life...never to be known or understood by mortal man....

Hmmm...could it be I'm expecting too much from them!?

I couldn't agree more. And the proof has been everywhere for the last several years.

So true. Management tries to separate and conquer but some of the reps are figuring out that they are all in the same boat regardless if they are a S1, S2 and S3. This is a formula management self-preservation.
