The Institutionalized Madness of Merck

This place is like a tsunami of toxic sludge that rains down on the sales force...

I am amazed that they pay managers close to 175K for sending mvx messages, and forwarding emails...and they are so protected, that they are practically teflon...rarely, does any of them suffer any consequences of their evil actions...very few of them are decent human beings that managed appropriately...

wake up people...this is a really rotten place to work, and I am not sure being a drug rep is really that great a deal anymore, even with this crappy economy...

better to retain some dignity as a human and get out...

pure poetry...and 100% true!!

I once asked a manager about the craps he/she has to deal with from above. The answer was it was like hell but no other job paid that well in doing what the OP described.

well you could add "field visits" to their job description, which usually only serve to embarrass the rep, and piss off the customer...truly a worthless job, but alas, Mother needs someone to do the dirty work. (ie. demoralize and force older reps out.) hence, the "value" of the manager.
