This morning I sent a message to Sarah, recommending that she shut this board back down.

One person, who is ruining this board, posted an extremely vile and hateful post about me. The OP deleted the post almost immediately, but not quickly enough.

I sent the post to Sarah and suggested that if she would not get tough on enforcing CP rules she may as well just go ahead and shut it down because it is already getting out of control.

I need not mention the name of the person who made the post. You all know who it is, and that person knows, and also knows that if the board is shut down, it will be that person's fault.

The way it has been going, I doubt the board will be missed.

I have found that discussing politics will be heated. Discussions turn personal and into attakcs by the person with nothing else of value to contribute. There is a particular poster who can't write a sentence without spewing venom and it is pretty funny. Can you just imagine going through life that way? And it was obvious 'that' poster was off their meds today.

There is no need to shut down the board. Flag posts that are an issue so those who can't at least attempt a little civility, even in a heated political discussion, are managed by the mods. I find it best to either laugh at them or just skip over the majority of their posts. Because, at the end of the day, it's an anonymous board and no one here really knows me so what do I care what they think? It's not like the vile posts attacking real people on company boards....but I digress.

I enjoy that guys posts. The fact that I'm even breathing keeps him up at night. And no, I cannot imagine going thru life like that.

The only thing that keeps me from conceding the point to all of you is that I don't see any evidence that the board is being monitored at all.

We were warned that they were going to be especially vigilant at first and that we were on probation, but the board has been deteriorating almost daily as certain people push the boundaries and realize how much they can get away with it.

In any event, it's too late to undo it. I'm just not totally convinced that I made a mistake. Maybe this will help cool things down.
