Merck saved SP. I was at kenilworth back then. The merck people were smarter, more aggressive and crushed us. The had the better culture for success. I like merck so much better.
 




A review of the past ten years in terms of product specific revenue would argue something otherwise. Schering was the only acquisition the “smart” people leading Merck made over the past dozen years. One failure after another in acquisitions and R & D. Merck was a strong, innovative company years ago. They became a culturally disfunctional nightmare concerning themselves with everything but effectively growing their business. They had a good long run.
