The date Valeant takes over B+L is not yet known

There is no confirmation of the date Valeant takes over Bausch + Lomb. If it was known Yahoo finance would have an article confirming the date.

Someone is delaying the paperwork and the final takeover. This means there is a degree of uncertainty as to whether Valeant can complete the deal. No deal Valeant pays back B+L and adds some interest payments. They may still pull out of the deal yet.

Valeant investors probably could care less either way as they know Valeant is a crazy company that makes decisions without much due diligence and if there is no B+L deal they will forget about it in about a day after Valeant announces another acquisition with much debt and empty promises.

Agreed. The ineffectiveness of Valeant to respond to questions from the press is an indication that something is not quite right.

Someone from the financial news networks will get after Valeant this week or next if the deal does not close. My guess is in two weeks the Valeant does not own B+L and there is some lame explanation for the delay.

This may drag out to November when the deal has to close and Valeant then walks away from the deal.

E-mail said "have 100 corporate employees" That means 1000+ will be leaving in 2013. The 15-20% will be manufacturing next year to make up the balance of 800 million.

If there are 1700 people "corporate staff" in Rochester does that mean 1600 people in Rochester are being layed-off?

I would imagine that by "corporate staff" they mean directors and up. B&L has almost 3X that today, and the new number would be for the combined company. The extra 10-15% is probably 2014 reductions, the kind of thank-you that D&R people would get for sticking around and launching the products that remain in the pipeline.

Another email from Ryan Weldon to Medicis employees left says Medicis is closing and no one moves to NJ because "a handful" of B/L corporate services employees are moving to NJ.

A handful means five or ten. The other 1300 are toast.

I think it is a mistake to think that because Valeant hasn't annouced a date to anyone, that they aren't sure if/when they will be able to get the deal done.

I can think of a variety of reasons they wouldn't want to make a public announcement as to when the deal will close.

Everyone better buckle up though. Because I think it's about to get pretty bumpy around here. T+6 work days
