It was getting us to think that if we produce, we will get the job security and the fair bonus.

None of this was true and it never will be.

If you are a hard worker and smart, do yourself a favor and start your own business.

Give these terrible jobs to those that are lazy and lack creativity.

Agree with this guy as well. This industry is just terrible.
In fact, I just got off the phone with a friend in construction sales. He makes about 110K, not great, but not bad. The catch is this: He almost NEVER hears from his manager/boss. In fact, he hasn't spoken to his manager in over 3 months. His numbers are fine, and that is all the company needs.
The best aspect of this story is that my friend (he is about 50) was able to acquire about 4M in real estate in Southern California over the years, and has no personal debt.

Now, do you still want to do pharmaceutical or medical sales with all the stress and lack of steady income due to another downsizing?

If you do, then you need some mental help.
