Territories Cut?

What territories got cut/compacted with larger ones. I heard of 2 people at least in the south that their territories/jobs were eliminated on friday. Both had less than 1 year with company, 1 left a large company to come to cov EMID division and has only been in the field a few months. Whats the story. What areas got cut?

Under 1 million base single territory, you are cut. Less than 4 million team territory, one has to go.

They eliminated at least 2 that I know for sure, 1 of them I talked to personally on friday. Maybe they are calling it something else (spin) but some sales jobs have been cut, the overall numbers I don't know. Seems like the 2 that I know of bordered each other 1 being small rural the other being in a large metro area with another rep in the metro. That would leave 1 rep to cover a large metro area plus the surrounding rural area unless the rural area is absorbed by another territory.
Just sucks that the 1 person who left another company to come to cov would be cut so soon out of training. The company had to have an idea that this was going to happen so why would you put someone through the hell of the Cov training program just to let them go within 1 quarter.

Yes, but all this is still ongoing this week. Won't know the outcome until next week.

Sounds like this may be more of a company strategic move vs what you are describing firing a rep and demoting a mgr that sounds like performance based

This must be Ebd. All the EMID managers are still there in Pittsburgh.

This entire thread is BS!!!!!!!! There are no cuts and in fact there is an increase in head count going on. Sounds like a jealous pharm rep who couldn't make the cut into med device with a company like Covidien!

There are no wide cuts. A few team territories were taken to a single rep because the revenue didn't warrant two reps. Some small territories that didn't have revenue to stand alone were absorbed into other territories. This thread is making a huge deal of it, but we're talking single digits here. Not a huge cut.
