Tenure with Publicis - Just accepted offer

Hey - Just joined Publicis - noticed on the offer letter that contract could expire and job eliminated - how often does this happen - should I continue my search or does another contract replace the one that has expired quickly - just wondering - what is the average tenure that you all have. Have you all been laid off and then come back....how does it work?

It's a crap shoot. Most contracts go their course, but some cancel, which is why the hiring pharma co. likes them. You can put up and tear down a sales force with no severance. Some contracts extend and last for years longer than they are set for as well Being put on another contract is not a given. It will depend on if one is open, and you will have to interview for it again anyway. Enjoy the contract world, it is not a bad job to me, but if you want a more stable career, look while you have a job. If you can deal with periods of unemployment, just enjoy the job while you do it and worry about it when your contract ends. Have fun.
