Tekturna Goals

My manager tells me that I am not doing all that I could be doing in order to meet the companies goals. Heshe has no business accumen, mandates that we utilize our sales aid on every call, and follows what will eventually lead to another class action lawsuit as we continue to ask doctors to prescribe Valturna for his/her patients with HYP and diabetes, even as we have NO indication for diabetes. Then, as usual, we keep waiting for the "Outcomes Studies" for who knows what type of condition affecting the kidney, the RAAS and whatever else Novartis is hoping to discover and sell this med for......Maybe ED would be worth a try.....Back to goals...... The highest met Tekturna % to goal in the Southern region where I work is, are you ready, 72% for the entire 4th quarter. NOBODY even came close.....Some cube jockey must be smoking "occupy Scat" as they have NOOOOO idea what we are seeing here in the field. Generics and managed care mandates that other meds are written FIRST......then, maybe say 4th or 5th line, we might get thrown a bone. Goals? Trust? C'mon reps, tell Novartis what you really think........

Selling Tekturna is difficult. Its not a new drug. Been available since 2007-2008. Novartis had hopes of Tekturna sales replacing some of Diovan loss however that hasnt happened.
Novartis has tried hard to weave a story to increase sales and theoritically the story makes sense but there is no clinical proof. Is Tekturna an improved ACE/ARB, probably so but drop in blood pressure is no different, does suppressing renin better than ACE/ARB make it better....well maybe but thats what the outcome studies hope to tell us. Without clinical proof that Tekturna is better in some way we are trying to convince phys. to find a place for Tekturna in a crowded market, Its tough

I agree. And if you are not fondling your top doctors, and counterparts, on an ongoing basis, then your manager is correct. You really aren't doing everything you can... Are you?
