Let’s discuss actual technology that drives business.
Notice the sounds? It's like crickets in here but let's run with your thought for a moment.... technology that drives business.
Outside of some sort of true life saving technology.... Technology does not drive business. Let's discuss DX for a moment. IMHO, it is a great technology but having that in the BTK bag for 5+ years now has not pushed BTK beyond the single digit market share point. In fact, they a retracting in the market space. So, technology does not drive business. Maybe........ maybe if CMS were to truly crack down on the overuse of dual chamber ICD implants for detection/discrimination purposes then maybe physicians would care and BTK might see a windfall in single chamber ICD business.
The reality is high level contract negotiations drive business and BTK is not even invited to play with some of them.
This right here.

if CMS were to “truly crack down on the overuse”.....look everyone, the wannabe lawyer has changed threads.
Tech is what will drive business in the future
Always easy to spot the micro-D
By the fact that despite the dismal recall record of the big three, customers stick by them, I’d tend to agree. I’d add quality too. Quality is given lip service but rarely used as a deciding factor in contractural selection. Biotronik sells on technology and quality. Customers for the most part don’t care about either. They’re aiming for “good enough” and that’s what they get from ABT, BSX and MDT.

Physicians are loyal to who pays them the most. This has always been true.

Technology is a differentiator for sure, but in the case of BTKs technology, it’s simply not compelling enough for most customers to care… or care enough to break long term contracts with the big three that are much more extensive and seemingly financially beneficial. Let’s be honest, most hospitals/doctors don’t care about offering the best technology for their patients. They’re aiming for “good enough” and that’s what they get from ABT, BSX and MDT.
“Most hospitals/doctors don’t care about offering the best technology for their patients. They’re aiming for “good enough”.”
Explains a lot about the mediocre treatment and managers out there at the “big three”.

What do managers or the treatment of said managers at the 'big three' have anything to do with that fact that for 99% of their cases doctors are in-fact looking for 'good enough' and not willing to upset the status quo?
