I attended an educational dinner sponsored by B+L. At that dinner, alcohol was served. Most attendees consumed one or more alcoholic beverages. At the conclusion of the educational meeting, all of the attendees got in their car and drove. If one or more of the physicians got into an accident that resulted in a death and were over the legal limit would B+L be liable?

Yes Bausch would be liable. Which division, vision care (contacts), surgical or Rx?

I’m not sure that is accurate……
Think about it, you are not forced to drink alcohol at dinner programs.

B+L actually has limits on the number of drinks people are supposed to have——it is factored into the meal budget.
Why wouldn’t the restaurant be liable for over-serving like they would any other patron. The restaurants are the ones serving the attendees.

B+L paid for the drinks and a person representing B+L allowed an intoxicated individual to drive.

The original question was asked rhetorically. Without question, B+L (or any Pharma company) can be held liable.
