Any company that uses the term teaming has not clue what being a well run sales organization means. First, the definition of teaming is to come together as a group to achieve a common goal. When is the last time as a region we all went out and sold together? Anyone? Anyone? Yes the answer is never and it wont ever happen. Yes we are all trying to achieve a common goal of successful sales for the betterment of the organization but that is not done by teaming. Being successful in the field has NOTHING to do with how you kiss your teammates ass. If it did then we would have all super stars in the pharma community. We know that is not true since most medical device company want nothing to do with pharma reps. So teaming is nothing more than being fake, acting like you care about someone which frankly you dont. Amgen would be much better off organizing the meeting to get us in and get us out so that we could go out and do our job. Teaming and acting fact gets us no where. Its truly a sign of a very weak organization. I keep waiting for the time to come when i walk into a general session and i am handed a tube of Vaseline to put on my teeth to encourage me to fake smile. That only last for so long. Get a strategy and execute it. Stop the rah rah bs and execute. Rah rah is for cheerleaders and I can tell you I am not a cheerleader.
