It's true, there are an awful lot of "chicken little's" on this site, but honestly, would anyone really be surprised if drastic head count reductions were about to be implemented on the tablet side? Considering the tenuous state that Merck is in ,I would be more surprised if only minimal reductions were slated for next year

Here is what I know: ctl call the first Mon in 14'. Rep calls the day after announcing 40% cut with this group. Those in the 40% will be advised by Jan 31st with a 60 day WARN for a separation date of 3-31. I know this as fact and have no other details about locales, # of ctl's vs. Reps, etc. Many other franchise groups will face the same timeline and reductions. These meetings were completed last week and dco's - ctl's are out of the loop. Take it for what it is, just trying to shoot it to you straight. Ask the groups let go in recent months. No warning whatsoever, a complete blindside. HR does this for various reasons. If groups have forewarning people may go out on medical or simply not work.

What happened to the tablet realignment that the poster mentioned a few weeks ago which was supposed to occur the first Monday of Jan? Doesn't sound like they are laying off. They are talking about suvarexant and the osteoporosis drug being approved so maybe they are keeping the reps?

I am also in UG - A pod fourth floor - the tablet groups are going to be reduced 75% and the WARN info you have relayed is true. Also,under the QT - remaining Field employees will be instructed to apply for healthcare on the exchanges - internal folks willbe instructed to do the same a week after the Field announcement

The ever useless clowns in our salesforce have a capacity to only sit on their collective asses - many were proficent in deli slinging but the truly useful ones have been eliminated- personally I can't wait until the remainder are history
